Step by step in Chrome

  1. In the X app, open the post, tap Share, then Copy link.
  2. In Chrome, paste the link into the box at the top of this page.
  3. Choose a quality and tap Download MP4. Chrome shows a notification while it downloads.
  4. Tap the notification to open the video, or find it later in the Downloads folder.

Where the video is saved

Chrome saves files to the Downloads folder. Open Files by Google (or My Files on Samsung phones) and choose Downloads. Google Photos and most gallery apps show it in a Download album.

To see everything Chrome has saved, open Chrome's โ‹ฎ menu and choose Downloads.

Long videos and live recordings

Large replays and live recordings take a while. Leave the download running until Chrome says it is complete.

Does this work for Instagram Reels too?

Yes. Copy the Reel link from Instagram instead; the remaining steps are the same.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Chrome is enough, and other browsers work too.
