A good video is worth keeping

How it works

One link.
Your video, ready to keep.

01

Paste the post

Copy a public X post, broadcast, or Instagram video link and paste it above.

02

Choose your video

See its thumbnail and choose a quality. For a live X broadcast, choose a recording length too.

03

Keep the MP4

Your browser saves the video. Live recordings start near now and finish at your chosen time, near the size limit, or when the broadcast ends.

How to download a video from X

  1. Open the post on X, tap Share, then Copy link.
  2. Paste the link above. The video and its qualities load automatically.
  3. Choose a quality and tap Download MP4. Your browser saves the file.

Posts with more than one video

When a post contains several videos, a Select a video menu appears and the thumbnail updates as you switch. A link ending in /video/2 opens the second video directly, even in posts that mix photos and videos.

Quality and file size

Choose Best available or a specific resolution such as 1080p or 720p. The list shows only what X provides for that video, and every option includes sound. Videos can be up to 512 MiB.

What can't be downloaded

Posts from private or protected accounts, posts that need a login, photos, and videos embedded from other sites are not supported.

A few useful answers.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no account, app or browser extension to install.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in any modern mobile browser. The guides linked at the bottom of this page show where the video ends up and how to move it to your photos.

Why did my download fail?

Usually the post is private or deleted, or X changed something on its side. Check that the link opens without logging in, then try again.

Do you keep a copy of the video?

No. The video streams straight to your browser and is not stored on the server.
