How to download a Snapchat Story

  1. Copy the link of a public profile, such as snapchat.com/@name or snapchat.com/add/name. In the app, open the profile, tap the share button, then Copy Link.
  2. Paste the link above. The videos in the current Story and in every Highlight load as a list, grouped by Story and Highlight.
  3. Choose a video, then tap Download MP4.

Highlights

Paste a Highlight link (snapchat.com/@name/highlight/…) to list only that Highlight's videos. A video that is in both the Story and a Highlight appears once.

What can be downloaded

Only public profiles: creators, brands and public figures whose Stories anyone can watch without an account. Story videos come without a Snapchat watermark. Photos in a Story are skipped.

Friends' private Stories, Snaps and chats need a login and are not supported. A Story disappears from the profile after 24 hours unless the creator saves it to a Highlight.

How long can I download a Story?

Story videos stay on a public profile for 24 hours. Videos the creator saves to a Highlight stay until they remove them.

Why is a video missing?

It may have expired, or it may be a photo, which is not listed. If the profile is private, nothing can be downloaded.

Can I download Spotlight videos too?

Yes. Paste a Spotlight link. Snapchat adds its logo and the creator's username to Spotlight videos it shares, so those include a watermark.
